Carmel Kallemaa, won a gold medal in the rhythmic gymnastics team competition at the recent Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, England. She went on to win an additional three medals in the individual finals, silver in clubs and bronze in both ribbon and hoop.
The 24-year-old rhythmic gymnast competed as part of Team Canada at the Commonwealth Games which took place in Birmingham, England on July 28th to August 8th, 2022.
Carmel Kallemaa, along with rhythmic gymnastics team members Tatiana Cocsanova and Suzanna Shahbazian won gold in the team competition with a total score of 272.95 points, placing them ahead of silver-medallist Australia (268.65) and bronze medalist England (267.05).

Australia claim silver at Birmingham 2022 while the host’s England bag bronze.
Team Canada won the rhythmic gymnastics team title at Birmingham 2022 on Thursday (4 August) with a score of 272.950.
Australia claimed silver (268.650), and Team England, who had competed earlier in the day and were watching from the stands, bagged bronze (267.050).

Carmel Kallemaa of Barrie won the individual All-Around Bronze medal for rhythmic gymnastics at the recent Pan American Championships. The competition took place on July 7-9, 2022 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Kallemaa is the first Canadian gymnast to win a medal in the All-Around competition. With her hoop, ball, clubs and ribbon routines she earned a total of 113.6 points.

We were supposed to leave Toronto on Friday however our flight was cancelled due to a broken window on the plane.
Carmel spent hours on the phone trying to get new tickets, and she finally got them only at 3 am! However the new flight was for two days later, we stayed in Toronto.
