Renowned gymnast Alexandra Piscupescu visits Glimmer

We had beautiful, talented Alexandra Piscupescu visited us on the last day of July 2024! Alexandra is a previous high level Romanian rhythmic gymnast, World Cup medallist. Right now she is Technical committee member in European gymnastics, Romanian RG federation vice president and International judge!  

Summer trainings now available in Barrie!

On July 9th, Glimmer Barrie started summer trainings! Trainings are now available from 4:30 until 7:30pm every Tuesday and Thursday in July. Join us and have a productive, yet fun summer! We offer flexibility training, conditioning, coordination exercises, and a look into the beautiful sport of rhythmic gymnastics for the Lake Simcoe area. Glimmer athlete wins a bronze medal at 2024 Pan American Championships

Following her successful season in Canada, Carmel Kallemaa was selected as one of the three senior individual athletes to represent the country at the Pan American Championships in Guatemala City, Guatemala. Carmel pushed through several obstacles, such as very high temperatures in the performance arena and showcased 4 steady and clean performances in the all-around competition, which included the debut of a new ball routine. Carmel finished 7th all around and qualified for the clubs final, in which she finished 5th. Carmel with the Team Canada won a bronze medal in the team event. We are very proud of Carmel’s efforts and all that she does for Canada. 

Glimmer wins 2024 Canadian Championships!

he 2024 Canadian Championships was very successful for Glimmer Athletic Club! Our strong team of athletes brought home 17 medals, 5 of them gold. Our novice group, the youngest athletes of the competition, brought home their first Canadian Champion title! Our junior group secured a solid third place all around in a strong fight. Our oldest and most experienced athletes, senior group, also ended the competition on top of the podium. In the individual competition, Carmel Kallemaa retained her status as high performance athlete, national team member, and top 3 ranking in Canada. Our senior open athletes, Marta Kovalevych and Alissa Levytskyy, finished in second and fourth, respectively. Our junior athlete, Ella Gruber, showcased confident and strong performances in a very competitive field. We are very proud of all our girls and are looking forward to keep working and improving.
